We’re bolstering the startup ecosystem in Bucks County

The mission of Startup Bucks is to create and sustain a vibrant business startup ecosystem in and around Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Bucks County, Pennsylvania, with a population 630,000+ and proximity to Philadelphia and New York City, is a locale that attracts entrepreneurs, investors, and startup talent to live, work, and play.

Startup Bucks, a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2019, exists to help innovative companies start, grow, and scale in and beyond Bucks. We do this by supporting founders and connecting the startup ecosystem across the County.

Our work is focused in three areas:

  1. Community - events and forums for connection and communication

  2. Resources - programs, guidance, and insights for founders

  3. Capital - connecting to and providing sources of venture funding

We have three program areas to deliver our work.

Startup Now

The purpose of the Startup Now program is to create opportunities for people thinking about starting a business to meet people and get help and support and to develop a broader professional network. The program has two tracks:

Monthly Meetups: A rotating monthly meetup event at a public food and drink venue to allow those who want to start a business co-mingle and develop social capital with other founders, established business owners, government agencies, as well as investors and service providers.

Office Hours: A monthly opportunity for multiple in-person 1:1 meetings between founders and service providers, other founders, and government agencies, to the ends of streamlining the startup process and reducing the level of effort needed to start and run an early stage business.

Founders 30 (F30)

The purpose of F30 is for founders to ask the AUDIENCE (which is often full of people who have started and run a business) questions and get good answers. It's not a "pitch" as much as a discussion with people who can help founders answer their toughest questions about how to succeed as a business. This is the essence of F30 - it's 30 minutes for the founder to get good, actionable advice and tactical help.

The program is a monthly, in-person and live-streamed event.

Bucks Built

The Purpose of Bucks Built is:

(a) developing and administering innovative funding opportunities for startups, from venture to grants, and

(b)guiding startups through the process of getting ready to seek and take external funding of any kind.

We take pride in running our programs to be culturally inclusive and expansive. We make a conscious effort in our daily activities to reach out beyond our networks to engage entrepreneurs, mentors, and supporters of all backgrounds, ages, and experience.

We encourage you to send suggestions to team@startupbucks.org on how we can continue to expand and diversify the Bucks County startup ecosystem.
