The Bucks Built Startup Fund’s Fall 2021 Cohort

Five high-potential startups have been selected to receive $25,000 in funding and 12 months of advisory support as part of the latest cohort of the Bucks Built Startup Fund.

The five recipient startups span various industries and have founders or teams already based or planning to operate in Bucks County.

Yardley-based CareAlign is a mobile and desktop app that streamlines tasks and workflows for clinicians.

Founder, Subha Airan-Javia, and COO, James Green, both based in Bucks, are looking to hire sales and marketing resources in the County.

New Hope based EmpathED supports students with learning disabilities by training educators using virtual reality and multimedia.

Founder and Bucks resident, Kirsten Bronkovic, is working to expand the use of EmpathED to more Bucks County schools.

Founded by Doylestown native, Reid Moncada, Fitted is a subscription and on-demand laundry pick-up and delivery service located in 15+ cities.

Fitted has recently begun hiring and basing its Customer Success team in Bucks County.

Pippy Sips

Creator of Maia: the first-ever, award-winning 3-in-1 storing, cooling, and monitoring system for breastmilk.

CEO Amberlee Venti, an active member of the Bucks startup community, has partnered with a Bucks-based service provider for electronics fabrication on Maia.

Founded by Amira Idris Radović, TheraV has developed drug-free solutions to improve the quality of life of amputees.

TheraV is targeting new marketing and product team hires in Bucks County in 2022.

Originally screened from a field of 120 applicants, 10 finalists pitched to a screening panel of investors, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who evaluated the businesses on a number of factors, including the potential to grow quickly and broadly while having a positive economic impact in the County.  

In addition to $25,000 investments, the recipients will also receive 12 months of iterative support from Startup Bucks focused on growth and follow-on funding. 

The five startups from the inaugural Bucks Built cohort announced in February of 2021 have already made impressive progress with all demonstrating growth, four receiving new investment commitments from Ben Franklin Technology Partners, and two having been accepted to TechStars Accelerators.
