Naturaz Expands to TJX Stores, Moves R&D to Doylestown

Naturaz, a Bucks Built portfolio company, is making waves in the hair care industry as its products become available in the TJX chain of stores in the United States and Canada. Shoppers can now find Naturaz products at popular retailers such as TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Winners.

Co-founded and led by CEO Mumbi Dunjwa, Naturaz was a member of the inaugural cohort of the Bucks Built Startup Fund, receiving a $125,000 investment from the Bucks County Industrial Development Authority (IDA). $100,000 of the funds invested in Naturaz by the Bucks County IDA, were made available through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Angel Investment Venture Capital Program grant, awarded to Bucks County.

Those investments, along with a $50,000 investment from Ben Franklin Technology Partners plus a matching investment from a private investor, $50,000 from the JVS Philadelphia Fund for women, and additional support, have played a crucial role in helping Naturaz develop and grow. Another recent $25,000 investment from Drexel's Raynier Seed Fund is going to help Naturaz further build upon this success. Naturaz is raising a million-dollar seed round to accelerate its growth even further with a total of $300,000 secured.

The company recently opened its lab in the Pennsylvania Biotech Center in Doylestown, PA. This move showcases Naturaz's commitment to innovation and belief in the strength and support of Bucks County’s startup ecosystem.

The Naturaz team celebrated their entry into the TJX chain of stores with a family excursion to the TJ Maxx store in St. David's, Pennsylvania. In a post to social media, Mumbi and her husband Vuyo Dunjwa, Naturaz CFO & COO, highlighted the importance of including their daughter in this monumental moment, as she has witnessed the countless hours of hard work and strategy discussions they have faced over the years.

Naturaz's health-conscious formulas are designed specifically for curly hair, and the company's commitment to delivering results for its customers has propelled them into the spotlight in the hair care market. With Naturaz products now available in TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Winners stores across the US and Canada, consumers can experience the benefits of these innovative solutions.
